Highlights
Chongqing is the largest municipality in southwest China. It is a modern port city on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. Known as the 'Mountain City', it has a wavy terrain and the whole city is situated on the mountain. Ciqikou old town, Three Gorge Museum and Eling park are the most attractive spots of the city.
Wulong is one of the three regions named on the World Heritage List of South China Karst. Wulong National Geology Karst Park features its weathered Karst hills, cliffs, rocks, deep gorges and stone bridges. For its unique scenery, some movies were filmed here, such as TRANSFORMERS.
Day 1: Arrive in Chognqing
Arrive in Chongqing. As a city in the mountains, it is surrounded by two rivers, and has high-rises and buildings in graceful disorder. Chongqing enjoys a tropical moist climate of the central Asia, with cloudy days, less frost and snow. And you will be greeted at the airport (or the harbor) by your tour guide and transferred to hotel.
Day 2: Chognqing-Wulong Furong Cave, Stay in Wulong
After breakfast, your guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel and drive to Wulong (about 2 hours). Wulong County was discovered in May 1993 and it is very popular among foreigners for its limestone cave.First, you’ll get to Furong Cave (include cable way)to see the “underground artistic palace and a cavern scientific museum”. The main limestone is unexpectedly as long as 2700 meters.
After the tour, stay overnight in Wulong.
Day 3: Wulong Natural 3 Bridges-Chongqing
Today, you’ll visit Natural Three Bridges(include Shuttle bus & battery car)。This is the rare geological wonders ecotype tourism area, the typical Karst landform. Three Natural Bridges is composed of Tianlong Bridge, Qinglong Bridge and Heilong Bridge, which are all natural bridges lying from north to south, crossing over the Yangshuihe Gorge and connecting the mountains at the two sides. There are natural formed pits under the bridges, so the Three Natural Bridges are also called Tiankeng Three Bridges. it is also the Asia's largest natural bridge group. some scenes of "Transformer IV" and and Where is Papa Going were taken here. The site, as the name suggests, has three huge natural stone bridges over two karst dolines. The three grand arch bridges are named Tianlong, Qinglong and Heilong, respectively. In addition, karst caves, grotesque peaks, and beautiful waterfalls are found everywhere. Walk along the narrow path to the bottom of the dolines, you will experience the grandness and magic of nature. You will enjoy its outstanding presence.
Day 4: Chongqing City Sightseeing, airport/train station drop-off.
After breakfast, your guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel. You will explore three must-see famous Chongqing attractions: the Eling Park, Ciqikou Old Town and the Three Gorges Museum.
First, you’ll visit Eling Park. It is one of the old private gardens in Chongqing, built in late Qing Dynasty around 1909 AD. Due to its relatively high altitude, there you can have a bird's eye view of the whole city.
The last stop of the day is the famous Three Gorges Museum - the largest monographic museum. The exterior of the museum has cambered walls and vitreous dome, representing the history & culture of Three Gorges Project and its origins.
Ciqikou Old Town was Chongqing's old harbor and was once the home of many of Chongqing's rich merchants, where you can still see lots of Ming and Qing dynasty architecture, local shops, tea houses, local Sichuan street performance and so on.
