Day 1

Day 1 Start Cycling from Dūjiāngyàn Panda Valley

After breakfast, the driver and guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the Dūjiāngyàn Panda Valley (about 1.5 hours, 63km). Although having fewer pandas, this is much quieter than the research base in Chengdu city, allowing for a more intimate experience.

After filling of nature’s cutest bear, it’s time to hit the road heading to Jiēzi ancient town. We’ll spend some time exploring the alleyways and learning about the history of this important riverside town, before sitting down to some traditional Sichuanese food.

In the afternoon, our ride continues along one of Sichuan’s most beautiful, and less-explored, countryroads – Chóngqìng Road. After arriving at Báitǎ (White Pagoda) Lake, we can take a rest and enjoy thelake view. We will ride the last 10 km of the cycling route and end the day at Wǔxīng village.

Cycling Distance: 66 km (42 miles)

Elevation Gain: +170 m

Elevation Loss: -175 m

Day 2

Day 2 Hike Around Báitǎ (White Pagoda) Lake

Waking up fresh and energetic in the morning, we’ll drive to Wúgēn Mountain and begin the day by taking a short visit to Báitǎ (White Pagoda) Monastery and the unique library inside, created by Master Goǔpíng.

Then we’ll start hiking the trails and exploring the hidden villages scattered around the woods and mountains. The trails naturally take us to a valley, where we can enjoy an authentic lunch from a local restaurant. Today’s hiking ends when we arrive at the beautiful Báitǎ (White Pagoda) Lake and you’ll have the opportunity to visit a local bamboo-weaving workshop in a small town nearby.

Our guide and driver will bring you back to your hotel and you can expect to arrive between 18:30 and 19:15, depending on traffic.
